Engagement Photos....Check!

So the Groom and I took our engagement photos this weekend. What an adventure! Our fabulous photojojo (my nickname for the photojournalist) Kate Mefford of Juxtapose Photography helped capture this special moment in our lives! Yay!

We went down to Fair Park, an area of Dallas with the largest collection of Art Deco buildings in the world. The buildings date back to 1936, when buildings were converted to house the Texas Centennial Exposition. There are murals, sculpture, and many other interesting architectural elements. Fair Park is also home to the Cotton Bowl (the site for the Red River Rivalry) and the State Fair of Texas -- not to forget to mention the several museums, attractions, and cultural events. Anyway, it's a wonderfully fun place that we have enjoyed together over the years as well as with our families, so we thought it would be the perfect place for the shoot!

We also ventured down Main St., the location of the original Neiman Marcus. On Main St. there is wonderful lighting, interesting architectural elements, and fabulous signage. We also worked our way over to Old Red and took some fun shots on the steps of the historic courthouse.

Joining us on this adventure was a 1958 Berkshire Green, Nash Metropolitan. The groom has a penchant for British automobiles, so we knew it had to be included! The car is about the size of a modern mini cooper complete with lap belts but missing the luxury/necessity of side mirrors. It might possibly a death trap, but we survived!

After I explained the day to the girls at work, the below photo was created by one of my lovely co-workers. I think they want me to include at the wedding somehow..... we shall see!
